1. Necessary Storage
Dear Watson uses necessary browser storage to remember your consent choice, keep the game state on your device, validate access codes, support orders, and maintain site security. The game would not function reliably without this storage.
- dw_cookie_consent_v1: Stores your cookie and analytics preference.
- dear_watson_game_state: Stores local game progress so your investigation can continue if you refresh or return.
- Security/session data: May be set by the site or Cloudflare to protect the service and keep core features working.
2. Optional Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is used only after analytics consent. It helps us understand aggregate visits and improve the website. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed without client-side cookies.
3. Marketing Cookies
Dear Watson does not currently use advertising pixels, remarketing cookies, or third-party profiling cookies.
4. Changing Your Choice
Use the Cookie settings control on the site to reject non-essential storage, accept analytics, or withdraw analytics consent later. Withdrawing consent stops analytics from loading on future page views.
